It all started with a bug, an intuition, and a stripped-down sensor. At the origin of EOS, there was one man, one obsession, and one blind spot. Thierry Illis, passionate about computer science and spectroscopy, discovered bolometry by chance. What he saw then was beyond his imagination: a technology capable of revealing what the eye cannot see. That was all it took to ignite the spark. From DOS servers to embedded vision, he created EOS, a thermal camera designed to understand, alert, and save.
In the 1990s, Thierry built his first computers by hand, patiently exploring the limits of this emerging technology. Then came pixels, thermography, laboratory tests, and unlikely collaborations with researchers, firefighters, military personnel, veterinarians, and others.
Each step builds EOS’s strength and precision. But very quickly, he moves away from theory to practice: the field. Where conditions are harsh, risks are real, and every second counts.
This is where EOS comes into its own.
EOS is the synthesis of three visions:
Each sensor is calibrated to the micron, each pixel has its role in the image, ensuring precision and reliability.
Open seas, ports, roads, forests, warehouses: the camera is born
where it is needed, at the heart of critical environments.
Saving lives, preventing disasters, warning before
impact. This mission is at the heart of every development.
Co-development of a new generation military bolometer, combining performance and extreme robustness.
Full-scale tests in marine environments, with firefighters, in logistics: proof through action.
