Unlike conventional cameras that capture visible light, EOS detects infrared radiation (heat) emitted naturally by each object. This radiation is captured by a microbolometer, which converts temperature variations into a digital image.
Two technologies coexist:

– Amorphous Si (amorphous silicon): robust, accuracy between 20 and 85 mK
